I like black powder pistols, can you fill me in on conversions? Can I use modern bullets? Or do I need to buy special loads?

    Thanks,
    Chad

Here is to get you started.

Buy a Black-powder revolver, can be order to your door (no FFL needed), depending where you live. Check your laws.

Then get a conversion kit or conversion cylinder (no FFL to purchase). Their not cheap. But better than dealing with a FFL. Depending on cylinder, no major tools needed. Get a drop-in.
Conversion kits, your need tools and some mechanical skills. Depends on which kit you buy.

    << Can I use modern bullets?>>

When you buy the cylinder, it will state what type of metallic cartridge to use, depending on caliber.

<< Or do I need to buy special loads?>>

See latter. Make sure you buy a steel B.P. revolver, NOT BRASS.
