For conversion to alternate caliber there are two types:
1) .357sig an 9mm you do the barrel and mags, and for reliability ejector.
2) 22LR you need a whole upper.

Now for .45gap is it #1 or #2.
I want to assume #1, but I feel the barrel diameter may require a a different slide. Please let me know if you have experience in this.

PS are there any other calibers available...ie 9x25 dillon is available for the 10mm, .400 corbon and super for the 45acp's etc. and yes I know these wont work in the 23? Thanks

I don't know about going to 45 Gap on a G23, sorry I cant help you there. If you do go to 357 SIG or 45 GAP make sure your frame is new enough to have the extra reenforcing block. Also going 40 S&W to 357 SIG only requires a bbl swap. The 357 SIG is a 40 S&W case necked down to .355", the mags and extractor are the same. As for 9x25 Dillon, 45 Super, and 400 Corbon, those will only work in properly set up G20s or G21s because the loaded cartridge is too long for the smaller grip frames on the G23, etc. Hopefully that helps. A search at Glock Talk should also yield much more detailed info.

Hey thanks for the reply, I know the others require a 10mm or 45acp for use. I've already got a G29, but hopefully the 45gap fits in the G23 as then I dont have to buy yet another glock...on the other hand, nothing is wrong with that! ;)

If you can change a 23 to a .45GAP it would have to be a complete upper. The slide on the GAP pistols are wider to accept the larger diameter barrel and provide more slide mass for reliability.

But, i'm not sure if it would even work at all.

Glock caliber conversions

A good way to think about which calibers you can convert with just a barrel change vs. a complete upper is that you can go down in caliber, but not up. For example you can easily convert a .40 caliber to 9mm with a conversion barrel, but not to .45. The breech face on a .40 is not capable of accepting the larger rim of a .45. Similarly, you can't upconvert a 9mm to a .40. Check with the company you intend to purchase a conversion barrel from for further info. FWIW I am very saisfied with the price, quality, and reliability of the 9mm conversion barrel I got from Lone Wolf Distributors (LWD) for my G23 (.40 S&W). The LWD barrel was considerably less expensive than comparable barrels from KKM, Barsto, etc. BTW I did purchase a G19 9mm mag, but my 9mm conversion functions just fine with my G23 .40 S&W mags as well.

Thanks for the info, its what I thought it would be...but not what I hoped.

I have a G19 upper as well as a whole G19 so no need for a 9mm conversion, but I am interested in the 45gap... anyone know where to buy a compete G38 upper, topglock doesnt have any in their cart and I havnt seen uppers anywhere else. Thanks
