Wouldn't this be bad for the magazine springs? Regardless, it is quite impressive.

No. Springs as used in modern magazines are worn out by cycling (full, empty, full, etc) not by being either compressed or extended (as long as it's within design limits)

Basically, storing a properly designed magazine loaded hurts absolutely nothing.

Amateur.

Just kidding :p , I wish my safe had a few of those.

It is a common misconception that a loaded magazine will wear the springs. Actually, cycling the spring (compression and decompression) is what wears out springs. So rotating mags wherein one empties one and loads another periodically in an effort to save the springs is actually causing more fatique/wear.

My 2 cents.

Yep. It's cycling the springs that wear them out, not keeping them at constant compression.

We've had countless experts in metallurgy post on this.

Looks like something one would see in a "Zombies?!!! Better open my safe!" kind of movie. That many magazines alone, plus being loaded is 50% overkill. Half as many wouldn't be so bad. Must literally weigh 1000 lbs or so.

I fail to see how this is over kill....now over kill may, just may be 4 or 5 more of those safes.

Depends on how many people you're outfitting now don't it? I figure that every family member should have a safe stocked just like that one within arms reach at all times.

So, they should drag a one ton safe around on wheeled pallets throughout their daily lives? I'm going to disagree with you.

Mags occupy the same space loaded or empty. Storing them loaded saves ammo storage space.

Why it's only common sense prudence!
