Protecting your eyes is important. I always where a pair of cheap shooting glasses whenever I go to the range. But recently I saw A picture of myself wearing those glasses and realized how dumb they look. So I hit up google and tried to find some stylish shooting glasses. I found a lot, but most of the good looking ones were pretty expensive, over $100. To much for me to justify. Does anyone know of a place to find good looking shooting glasses at affordable prices? I don't care about designer names, but I want actual safety glasses I can trust, not just sunglasses.

I recommend this brand because they are a great price, and I wore some blue Fortress glasses for welding. Those are so comfortable you forget they're there, and they've got a large mark where they stopped molten slag from hitting my retina. Because I forgot I was wearing them, and it jumped up under the mask. So I'm a convert.

I also got the Intrepids because they're the strongest glasses there, but they don't look so cool.

V2 goggles are good too, and anti-fog coating sure works, but they collect moisture and are too large for my eye sockets, so I'm putting in for some XSG and a variety of the other styles and shades.

Plus the store sells ear plugs in bulk:)

awesome.
I also just looked at cheaperthandirt and saw these http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/93358-3796-970.html

EDIT: these look pretty cool.

You can probably find the Oakley S.I. M Frame glasses on ebay for around a hundred bucks. You get a clear lens for indoor shooting and a sunglass lens for outdoor shooting, a bag for the spare lens and a hard case you can throw in your range bag.

Disregard the designer name [Costa Del Mar], but on bright, sunny days
I find that even with my 60 year old eyes I can see the sights very clearly.
I use the Ballast with mirror blue lens. I know these come recommended
by fisherman; but they work well for range use too. Cost can be a factor,
at $139.00 @, but they don't give these glasses away. Right now, mine
are in the hands of Costa Del Mar in Florida; under a lifetime warranty,
cuz I slap wore them out~! ;):cool::D

I borrowed a pair similar to this from a friend of mine to shoot an IDPA match. came with 3 sets of lenses (clear, amber, smoke) and were very comfortable.

Surely you can get them cheaper than 80 bucks.

We got those issued to us in my last unit; three lense set: Amber, Clear, and smoke. hardcase and soft case. Nice shooting glasses but pretty exspensive.

I've always liked the way my wraparounds look. I usually end up paying about $30 for them, and they have shatter resistant lenses, UV block, and polarized.

I do everything in them. Fish, shoot, drive, etc.

Wiley X My buddy got some when he deployed, he loved them. I bought the AirRage Light Adjusting. They are great, the adjusting part is pretty good, in the dark they are light enough to wear, in the sun they are dark (not super dark though).

oakley's have worked well for me
specifially the half-jacket's

swapable lenses- dark tint for outdoors, clear or yellow for indoors

I just purchased a set of ESS ICE glasses (link to them). Lots of people like ESS so I figured I'd give it a try. Can't argue with the shotgun statement. :)

I coughed up the cash and bought a paif of Randolph Engineering Ranger XL shooting glasses. Paid about $300 for them, but I have prescription lenses.

They look semi-goofy on me but they are comfortable, adjustable and stay in place when I put them on. Buy once... cry once.

They also saved my eyesight last year when I had a .30-06 case let go on me when shooting my 1903 Springfield.

+1 on the ESS ICE glasses. Just bought a set. The nice thing is that you can get a prescription lens carrier that goes behind the protective polycarbonate lenses. They might not be Raybans or Oakeley's, but they offer protection all the way around your eyes and don't look *too* goofy. Shooting glasses are for protecting your eyes from shrapnel/birdshot. How many guys at the range are going to care how fashionable you look?

The S&W safety glasses usually work well for me. I also got a pair of the glasses that CMP sells. They came with clear lenses also and fit me well. Home Depot/Lowes sell safety glasses and they have some clear wrap-arounds that have that slight glaze tinting and are very comfortable in the sun.

One thing I have noticed is that lots of glasses that fit others don't fit me. Find a cheap brand that fits and stick with it. You still don't have to spend hundreds of dollars.

When looking for shooting glasses (if you shoot practical pistol esp.) you want glasses that are optically correct not only straight ahead but in the peripheral.

A lot of safety glasses aren't optically correct.

You only have one pair of eyes, take care of them, don't be too cheap.

I got a set of polarized shatterproof Panoptx off ebay for like $40 shipped. They are a wraparound design and have some foam to seal to your face (ever had brass go inbetween your glasses and face?) and haven't fogged yet. I got them for a backup pair for riding my bike and for shooting...mostly shooting.
