Why not build something yourself? Buy a nice barreled action, get a stock-blank or synthetic stock, tap it for optics, etc. It's pretty rewarding to do it yourself and have a gun built to YOUR specs that shoots good.

I just ordered one from CFS. A Sterling Pistol in 7.62X25 but only $549. it uses modified sten mags. 1260 rounds is cheap yet $118 for a tin of corrosive ammo.

If i had that much to spend on a gun, i'd get an ALASKAN .454 Casull, or one of the .460 revolvers. That way u can shoot 45 colt, acp, 454, or 460. It would be awesome.

My Mosin Nagant which I will sell to you for $1,499.00.

Really? You would do that for me? While we are at it could you please sell me 200 rounds of ammunition for another $1,500? LOL

Garand
M1A Springfield Armory
Armalite AR-30 in 338 Lapua - Most likley used if you want to stay under 1500.00

I'm not interested in a mosin nagat right now. They are great heavy rifles, but my brother already has one that I can shoot if I want.

When I say I'm not interested I mean not this purchase. I'll very likely end up owning an M1 Grand, Mosin Nagat etc.. at some point. But when I do buy a mosin nagat my budget is $200 :)

SIG 556 Classic, Rifle
H&K P30L, Pistol
FNH, FiveseveN, Pistol
Actually the SIG is nice but not as "modern" as the H&K, P30 and P30l are some of the most attractive pistols ever. Mags are pricey and more difficult to come by though, FN FiveseveN is about the most fun pistol to shoot and ammo is available and not too pricey, (IMO).

+1 m1 garand
theres something about that rifle
and for unique buy one of the sage tactical stocks for it, but then every one will hate you

I'm going to go on record here and say that the M1 is a crappy old piece of crap, and I'd take a Mosin first.

The M1 Grand may only be good for hunting and showing off now-a-days (inferior in combat), but it was a gun ahead of it's times. As long as you get one in good working condition it seems like it would be loads of fun to shoot and therefore a great candidate for purchase.

I would have to say go with a Garand also.........anyone who would talk smack on one couldn't be a true American:what:

Maybe even look into a trench shotgun......I think they are sweet too:D
