I was decapping range pick up 223 brass and ran across what looks like a primer with a copper cup.

Picture compares more typical nickel plated and plain brass primers compared to the copper one.

Anyone know what brand of primer this is?

I had some Tulas that were that color one time. SR for .223/5.56

Ok. I just looked at some combloc ammo. The cases are the same color, but the primers look like plain brass.

You mean IF it's zinc washed commbloc steel, brass, etc, it will have this copper look to it?

So probably Tula primers, maybe wolf. How did you like them?

If being the key word, yes.

Tula .223 primers I have are brass finished while Tula SR primers are copper finished.

BTW, regardless of finish color, all primer cups and anvils are made from brass - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.p...ts-your-experience.630512/page-2#post-7794378

Remington small rifle bench rest used to be copper plated, I've got a pile of them in my closet, don't know if they still are. BTW if I remember correctly the anvils have 2 wide legs.

No problems with the Tulas seemed to work just fine in my AR and MIni14.
Don't have the part number but they have a couple different SR primers.
