Does anyone have any experience with copper plating cast bullets ? What thickness did you plate?

What did you use for copper? Anyone use solid core wire?

And of course who's silver plated bullets for in case of werewolves or in case I meet the Lone Ranger.

I tried it about 25 years ago, it was more of a copper wash. It seemed to keep the bullets from getting a lead oxide skin.
Didn't seem to be worth it. If I had a thicker coating it may have worked better.

I looked into it, a simple electroplating setup will deposit copper onto the lead, the source can be pretty much anything from copper wire, chore boy pads, copper buss bars etc. The problem is to get the copper to adhere properly, the lead has to be passivated with some pretty nasty pickling compounds. If I recall correctly, floroboric acid is required, which isn't readily available at the local Walgreens
