Corona Virus Panic Buying

Corvid-19 mortality rate appears to be similar to the 1918 flu, about 2-3%. Seasonal flu is about .1%. So the potential for economic crisis is real which can lead to shortages and disruption of public services.

Stocking up on ammo, if not already done, is not a bad idea

A lot of the numbers are coming from China so who knows how accurate those numbers are.

And who knows what the actual state of Chinese health care is either

This could be a black swan event that causes enough market and financial panic that we get another deep recession. But this time with more paranoia and a over tressed medical system. We could have stress from several directions all at once.

Again we don’t really know how bad this will get and THR members tend to be older so everybody should be cautious.

Maybe Italy’s numbers are more accurate. The mortality rate reported by Italy is 5%.

Not sure what has been bought up in relation to CV panic. I do know many stores in my area are out of hand sanitizer and toilet paper.

Went to Academy (big box sports & outdoor store) this morning and found plenty of ammo. The shelves with fifty count boxes .38/.357 Magnum were bone empty though which I found odd. Could be it's just a supply glitch though. Plenty of $$ twenty count personal defense ammo in those calibers like Gold Dot & Federal HRT for sale.

The shelves holding the budget .223/.556 ammo like, Tul, Wolf and American Eagle were glaringly empty. Plenty of 100 count boxes available. One reason for this maybe that turkey season starts in three weeks and the cheap stuff was gobbled (pun intended) up for practice.

Shelves were fully stocked with 9 mm, .45 APC, .22 LR, and .380 and most other calibers So, it seems, there is no panic buying of ammunition in South Central Texas.

Only thing that seems to be in short supply around here is hand sanitizer. Plenty of ammo on the shelves.

Someone smarter then I once said stock up in the good times and no need to worry about the bad times. But I haven't noticed a increase in ammo sales around north GA.
