Could I be wrong but I did not hear anything about airbags being deployed in the comrade corzine accident It is well known that police around here disable there airbags so that gang bangers do not intentionally cause the police airbags to deploy and then they can get away.

I don't know and I don't care. What I do care about is as I understand it, its illegal to ride in the front seat without a wearing a seat belt in NJ. He allegedly was in an SUV driven by a Law Enforcement Officer. Just another example of how the "elite" have laws passed but not applied to them. This time it cost him!

I do not favor seat belt laws (with perhaps the exception to force children to wear them until they are old enough to make their own decisions), but I'm old enough to have my first car not have seat belts in it. First thing I did was go to Sears and buy a set to install!

I thought I read that Corzine was thrown to the rear of the vehicle, not through the windshield. That says the vechicle may have spun and hit side- or rear-first.

A front airbag protects you only in a direct frontal crash, and even then can do more harm than good if you aren't wearing the seat belt. It will NOT keep you in your seat in a non-frontal crash.

Most airbags are programmed to deploy ONLY in a frontal crash, so their not deploying is no surprise.

Re Corzine and seatbelt laws which require the wearing thereof, he wasn't, it has been reported, does Do as we say not as we do ring a bell?

As another poster noted, special consideration for the elite, though it seems that this time, it cost him, one of those elite.
