I was curious is someone could please explain to me, why the USA will no longer allow the import of ANY firearms manufactured in China?

I know that the government has outlawed the import of "non-sporting" rifles from eerywhere BUT why no more handguns, shotguns or hunting rifles? (My only guess is that it pertains to some old trade embargo?) We have goods imported from China available for almost every purpose under the sun. The only exceptions that come to mind are firearms and complete motorized vehicles. I was just curious and didn't feel like googling it. Thanks.

Is this new?

Clinton banned most in the 90's, and Bush banned more in 2003, but "all"?

Both of my NEF Partner Protectors are Chinese made.

If they are made anything like most other things we import from China, you can have it, I certainly would not want one.

:scrutiny: I don't think it is all of them, just handguns and "assault weapons." Otherwise you wouldn't be able to get those wonderful copies of the Winchester 1897 shotgun. There is even a replica of the 1887 (the lever action) out there.

I believe the only guns we can get from China now are shotguns. It's too bad really because they make clones of how many handguns now?

They didn't ban everything. They just banned handguns and guns with "no sporting purpose". You can get "sporting arms" from China.

I've got a Norinco NHM91 (RPK) and it certainly doesn't seem to be a sporting rifle (runs great, not junk). It's basically a beefed-up semi-auto AK with a bipod.
