So I got up and figured out the auto index on my LCT and I cranked out 50 rounds of 45 colt loads in 26 minutes that for me is incredibly fast compared to my single stage this being my first time using the auto index I checked powder weight several times and I went from once fired to loaded ammo in under one tv show :D so I am happy

Well I didn't have trouble sleeping, but am up anyway since that internal alarm clock always gets me up before 5AM.

Great that you have the LCT figured out. I just started reloading last fall and also have the LCT. So far I am being anal about checking everything and thus am not very fast. Yesterday put together 7 different loads (25 rds each) with 4 different powders and essentially used the LCT as single stage. Much faster to dip the powder than trying to set up the auto disk pro just for 25 rds. I am trying to find the loads that I like the best before I start going "bulk" reloads.

There is no reason to get in a rush even when loading on a semi or progressive press. To be honest I can just about load up a hundred rounds on my single stage as quick as I can setting up the progressive for a different type bullet or caliber.

Besides most of the time your looking for the "BEST" you can assemble so why put a rush on it. Now if your running a Dillon 1050 thats a whole nuther ball game.

41 mag I wasn't rushing like I said I stopped to check powder several times I was just saying this is faster than depriming 50 cases priming 50 cases flaring 50 cases dropping powder from a stand alone powder measure then seating the bullets

Glad you couldn't sleep, sounds as if you've gotten this other rig functioning great. I'm still using single stage, keeps me on my toes every single case and load. Glad things are "hummin'" for you ! Good luck.

Congratulations. My first time out with m Lee Classic Turret, I loaded and boxes 100 rounds in 47 minutes (including replenishing powder and primers for the next 100).

But I wouldn't normally load while experiencing insomnia. Full alertness is a prerequisite.

Well thats what I was saying, you still got more loaded in less time but you were not rushing trying to see how many you COULD do.

I guess it just came across the wrong way.

Here let me put it this way, Hey ya done good there Horsemen, it won't be long till you have that thing down pat. Beats watching the TV most anytime.

It's always nice to progress in your skills and knowledge of your equipment. That's how I feel now that I got that first 1000 rounds with my new Dillon 550. Small frustrations progressed to lots of fun!

I have at least a half dozen (and counting) Lee Adjustable Charge Bars and a couple Hornady Powder Measure inserts, so that I can capture the settings for specific loads I might want to repeat. Changeover, even for 25 rounds, is easy enough to be worth it and more precise than dippers (not knocking it).

I have had better luck finding the ACBs on eBay.

My context for now is handgun loading from 38 Special up to 44 Mag. I have most of what I need for my 30-30 Winchester and 223 Remington but haven't used it yet. I expect that the double disks will get me close enough for hunting or SHTF.

Since the beginning of hand loading time it has been widely known as a cure for insomnia. Well not exactly a cure but something to do when insomnia happens. Hand loading is like a medical marvel and good for whatever ails you. Really, it is.
