A friend of mine was looking at a Rem 700 with s 3-9x42 Countersniper scope and asked me about them. I'm not familiar with them, so what's the story on them? Aye or Nay?

I owned a 1-4 scope before I realized what a joke they are. Chinese made gimmicky junk. That reticle is nothing but a bunch of nonsense with special unobtanium filled, exotic, inert gas. Fortunately I was able to sell the rifle and scope fairly easily during the panic. Take the money you would have spent on the Countersniper and look at Vortex. There are MANY other/better options than Countersniper.

My name is Aaron, I bought a Countersniper but I've recovered. Please, learn from my mistake and don't go there.

Your friend should receive a discount for having the Countersniper rather than paying a premium.

Sorry, had to get that out of my system. First, let me say that I have shot and used a counter sniper. 2 of them in fact. I didn't buy them, buddy of mine did for his R700 and R700 in Remington Ultra Mag. They had a good sales pitch in Sportsmansguide for awhile and to be perfectly honest I had thought about picking up one seeing as I hadn't been able to find a scope with that many features and that much zoom at that price point.

While it's not... Horrible... Not worth the price. Glass isn't very clear and with one of them couldn't get it to hold zero for some reason. Second scope of the two wasn't horrible on his .308 R700.

Now this opinion held for awhile until I bought a Vortex Viper PST. Once I had that it was almost physically painful to use one of those counter sniper scopes lol.

My general opinion is that it's a low budget scope with a inflated price tag.

Oh god, counter sniper reemerges...

Like mentioned above, don't fall into the ploy. and to start, Counter Sniper is out of Business, parent company Dark Ops Holdings, a lot of articles saying why...

Best marketing ever, "We'll put ' Government Contract Overrun' an each scope we sell" Optics were sub par at best, just relying on esthetics and super duper reticles that did...nothing?
