I have the instruction booklet for Chapter 790 Statutes and The CCW application instructions.

First question:

790.06 License to carry concealed weapon or firearm

790.06.5 - Presents evidence of equivalent experience with a firearm through participation in organized shooting competition or military service;

Does a copy of my DD-214, even though I got out 8 years ago, count towards the training requirement?

Also, and the more difficult of the two questions... will my Florida non-res permit show up if I get pulled over... particulary if I get pulled over as a resident of another state that does not make it's CCW information public, even to LE?

Thanks! I figured as much, I'll just enclose a copy of my DD214.

The second point kinda matters to me. I'm getting my FL non-resident mosty because it's an extra 10 states or so, none of which I will likely visit. I just dont like everyone or anyone knowing that I am exercising my 2a rights... I guess I'm just paranoid.

Check www.myflorida.com the state's main website. You may try www.packing.org too but it may be down. Your state's CCW license may be valid already in FL. Check the recent list of states that FL shares at MyFlorida.com.

In FL if you are a honorable discharge US military veteran will a valid DD-214 you will only need to pay for the CC license and the police/law enforcement fees for the FBI/FDLE fingerprint cards. The fees in Florida can range from 0 to $25.00/card. I went to the local VA healthcare center and had a VA(Dept of Veterans Affairs) police captain sign off on it for free, :D . The VA police captain no longer works there and the cops in the VA police office now are total a-holes, :banghead: .
