Savage Model 1920 .250 Savage. Notice the detail on the rare Lyman factory optional rear sight! A perfect near the eye ghost ring with a little flip up . Recently did 3" at 100 yards rested with small insert flipped up with Remington 100 grain Corelokts and 66 year old eyes! The first mini Mauser action and until quite recently the only US produced one. Actually is a mini copy of a 1903 Springfield with a tang safety! Takes .250 Savage ammo in 1903 strippers thru the slots! :D

I thought noody would ask !
I was using the Remington #2 Rolling Block Sporting rifle with Parker Hale Rolloff mounts and a Litchert 8x Targeteer scope yesterday to patrol while splitting wood for large coyotes that had been seen early in the morn . My load of custom 68 grain Berger VLD boolits does almost 2600 fps and is dead sighted in at 200 yards in 3/4 MOA groups.:p
The gun is still reasonably quiet with less than 20 grains of powder burnt, but has substantial whack, the other load is a 75 grainer at 2300 fps that takes the local deer out of apple orchards with little fuss if necessary.
The onliet 25-35 I own is a Winchester Model 94 Saddle carbine, not shown.

LOVE the rolling block.

It's a shame that the classic rolling block seems to have fallen by the wayside due to the rush to sanctify the Sharpes falling block old rifle actions. Yet it was the rolling block that was a very big part in Remington's climb to mainstream gun maker in the early days.

I do have to say that it just looks odd with the modern scope on it though.... :D

Gordon, those are really handsome little rifles!
Was the Remington rebarrelled, and is that a Redfield scope wearing the Lischert booster?

(I'd give a significant portion* of my anatomy for either one of them!)

*Caveat - I'm 73 and a good "portion" of my anatomy doesn't work very well any more... Enjoy your quarterbores.

Thanx only old guys KNOW ! That is a Litchert Targeteer which was factory produced with a Kolmorgen scope body which was the predesessor to Redfield. That is a P.O. Ackley barrel and it shoots very well. That 25-20 with 14 grains of Reloader 7 under the 75 Grain Spire point produces 2300+ FPS and kills a blacktail deer with a shoulder shot DRN with complete penetration at 100 yards. The custom Bergers can hit right under 2600 FPS with Lil Gun and are pretty explosive.
