I am able to use electronic calls but i would like to try it the old school way. What are your "go to" calls, what do they do? and when do you use them? I want them to be simple to use as i'm not a caller by any means of anything lol.

I'm a big fan of "Thumper" made by verminator predator calls. It's an open reed design so it does take some skill to use and requires a break in period but unlike a closed reed call, it won't freeze up which is important. That is my #1, money call.

I also have a handmade jackrabbit call that works well and have had success using diaphram turkey calls.

Those are my "go-to" calls.

I've called predators here in Indiana for 20 years and lately my go to calls have been the Primos diaphragm calls. I also use a Knight & Hale 'Lead Dawg' quite often. These calls allow me to create distress sounds as well as coyote vocalizations. I also like the Johnny Stewart PC-1 for high pitch distress sounds, it is probably the easiest to use.

I use the elk diaphragm calls when I want to change things up, they work great. I have even whistled and called in coyotes but it is taxing on the lungs to keep up the necessary calling to bring them in.
