I've never actively hunted coyote. I'm on a 6k acre lease that has some pretty strict hunting rules during deer season, but in off season it's pretty much an open deal.
I've talked to some friends and I think we want to give the varmint hunting game a shot. I just don't know where to start. I've watched videos on youtube, but I don't know what calls to buy, what landscape to hunt, etc. There are already blinds positioned that have been there for years, although I think hunting on the ground would offer a greater field of view.
We have a lot of thick brush with intermittent open meadows with a lot of cactus. There are also a lot of scenderas cut into the brush to hunt through.
I've got 22 hornet, 223, 17 rem, 22-250, 243, and 6mm in the varmint killing territory.
I have a buddy that works with a lot of leather and he'd like to try to tan the hides.
