243 if you are looking at a new gun the 25.06 is a very good gun. I like my 25.06 for coyotes at long range also a good antelope round.

Of course I don't know what kind of ranges you're (OP) talking about but the 9 does great for me out to just under 200 meters. Very obvious impact, little recoil and less muzzle report, cheap and dual purpose to boot.

Factoring in that muzzle drop at the extreme ranges only adds to the enjoyment for me. A Trijicon NSN with a BDC has served me well after figuring out the new registration points.
 
I have killed 6 with my 204. It doesn't take a big bullet to kill them. I like to use a rifle without recoil when I can, as I can shoot better with it and you get to watch all the action through the scope. Their circle dance is unique to witness for sure.
