Have a 16 gauge browning Auto-5 with cracks in the wood fore end. Is this repairable, or do I need to look for a replacement?
Also I know next to nothing about this shotgun. It will not cycle with the friction ring in either position.
(Tried using Federal Target 1 1/8 oz #8 at 1145 FPS) ( should I try some Remington game loads 1 1/8 oz at 1265 FPS I am reluctant to try the high brass loads less it damage the fore end further)
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thank you

Without a picture it’s hard to know what to tell you about if the for-end is repairable. The cycling is harder to say. Have you cleaned it thoroughly?

Also, ya gotta lube the mag tube (lightly!)
Thanks Colonel. I lubed the mag tube lightly with some Outers gun oil, the shotgun cycles just fine now. The lady that own the shotgun isn't sure she wants to invest, I guess I'll have to talk little harder to get it for myslf.
Thank you again
