Created a mashup of shooting ranges - help me populate it

Add a couple in the Mobile Alabama area. The PASCAGOULA SHOOTING CLUB has ranges out to a 1000 yards for you long distance shooters.

This should definitely be a sticky. I just learned about two ranges in my state I had no idea existed. I've also added two more that I know about. There's a third, but I don't know exactly where it is, (been there twice) and hopefully some others will add it.

Coeur d'Alene & Post Falls

Added two ranges near Coeur d'Alene, Idaho

Fernan Rod & Gun Club (www.fgrc.org) East of Coeur d'Alene, and Center Target Sports in Post Falls.

Fernan has 50 yard pistol and 350 yard rifle.

Center Target is indoors, pistol calibres and archery.

Stores in the area to come. That'll take some time. There's more than one. Okay, more than six. FINE, more than ten!

I added a few ranges and stores in central PA. I also added The Holy Land.... Camp Perry. If you go to satellite view, wou can see Perry pretty clearly.

Someone added NRA Whittington Center in NM. Pretty neat. Looks like there was a 1000 yd match going on when the sat pics were taken.


Could the mods make a link to this into a sticky?

Is there a way to add locations simply by entering an address and having it put a marker there, or do they have to be manually placed ? I tried it but it seemed hard to get the marker near the actual address. Or are people just sticking them in the basic area ?

Would it possible to make this topic sticky? Or even just a link to the map? I think this info is extremely useful to everyone on this site, especially if they have to move to a new town for a job or whatever, it makes finding places to shoot waaaaaaay easier.

To my knowledge there is no better way to do it. I would love for someone to prove me wrong though as it would allow for more precise placement (challenge, any cpu guys out there?).

I tried to put my exactly on top of the range by zooming in to the basic area, then switching to satellite view of the map to find the exact location. This doesnt always work though as the satellite imagery is still not great in some locations.

I did a search for the Whittington Center, then dropped a place mark there, so it can be done.

I used mapquest to just get as close as possible. Not many public ranges anywhere near me. I added the only two in somewhat reasonable distance. ALso added a couple private facilities and a few shops.

I added 3 for Columbus, OH. Also, just type the range name into the search box at the top of the google map page after you select edit. Takes right to the location.

I'll hit the Hollywood/Ft. Lauderdale area in a minute along with some parts of Miami

.cheese.: That could actually be useful to a buddy of mine living in hollywood. He's finally becoming convinced to get a handgun and carry permit. I know there is a dumpy little range there that I've used a few times, I think it's on Pembroke. I didn't know many places to suggest to him anymore though.
