I know it's NOT for everyone, but I've carried inside the pants with a SmartCarry for over 10 years.

Cool weather's not here yet, so I can't use a full shoulder rig.

But I would like to utilize the "shoulder holster" concept.

This week I've been using my old, worn SmartCarry system as a quasi-shoulder system but just strapping it across my chest with the Kahr CM9 under my arm.

No, it's not perfect. No, it's not the full, "ActiveProGear" rig (which I just bought and returned). No, it doesn't feel tight and restrictive.

Yes, it's comfortable and it works.

Unless one has to button their top button or wear a tie, it might be an alternative carry system.

And, Woolrich, makes long-sleeve shirts with two fake buttons on the front with magnets in them. That shirt really works. I bought two of them.

How does that not pull the entire rig forward and around?
You can tether it to your waistband with mattress/ironing board clips. Since they're elastic you may need to put a paracord loop with the elastic, but the resistance of the elastic may be sufficient.

I don't know.

I doesn't seem to move.

I guess having material against material holds it steady.

The SmartCarry is a size "small" which fits the CM9 perfectly and leaves enough frame and grip outside the holster to draw easily but stay secured when moving around.

Hum! Pretty creative!

I'm not one to slavishly follow conventional wisdom and I, too, have found... um... "divergent" carry methods which work for me.

I usually keep them quiet because when I mention them on the boards I usually get crap for it from the Anointed Orthodoxy.

I, personally, dislike shoulder carry, but props to you for experimenting... and mentioning it in public.

Good pix, by the way.

That is similar to how the undertech shirts work. Albeit with the holster built into the shirt. I also believe 5.11 makes one similar as well. Shoulder holsters and shoulder rigs work fine if you have a large over garment such as a coat or suit. But a shoulder rig like yours should be more popular with people who carry under a T-shirt.

by now my crap deflector is industrial strength
I got mine from Wal-mart. Where can the ordinary citizen get an industrial strength crap deflector? Does yours run on AA batteries or do you need a heftier power source?

:D
