There are millions of Legally owned NFA weapons in this country. If these weapons are suitable only for criminal uses as to require a seperate classification and permits, where is the evedince backing it up ? With the millions of short barreled shotguns, short barreled rifles, any other weapons, suppressors, and machine guns in the NFA registry how is it that we always hear of handguns as the instrument of evil ! I would like to see the registry reopened to allow registry of ALL NFA weapons including MG....As I have stated on another board, what is so different between a shotgun launching multiple projectiles with a single trigger pull and MG doing the same? In reality, there is none except the emotional response associated with the machine gun....What is the purpose of the registry other than a sign of good faith between citizens and the government saying," I intend to only use this item for legal and lawful purposes"? So having said that, the registry needs to either be opened up to all NFA weapons; or discarded as a breech of the public trust ! Lastly, how do you get a sound suppressor(not a able to shoot anything by itself) to be classified as a firearm! Illogical to to say the least !
This should be the goal of the firearms enthusiasts out there.....to bring this truth to light.....A gun is a gun is a gun....
If I can be trusted with a concealed carry license and/or hunting type rifles, then short barreled shotguns, shortbarreled rifles, any other weapons, sound suppressors, and MACHINE GUNS should not be denied me either; or any other person that qualifies for that matter Let's get a study done on the use registered NFA weapons vs non registered in crime and the evidence should speak volumes to the rationale used to design this legislation.....we can mail it to represenitive and governors.....Truth is rarely able to be denied when it finds the light of day....
