The Crosman Model 357 SIX
Made from 1983 to 1987
The gun is a single/double action .177 caliber CO2 revolver that is a replica of the Colt Python firearm. This pistol has a 6″ barrel, a six-shot rotary clip, and it can hold one CO2 powerlet.

I always lusted after those when I was a wee yoot in the late ‘80s.

I know it called the 357 but I always thought it was a closer representation to the Diamondback rather than the Python.

I had one of those for several years. Enjoyed it a lot. It loads by breaking open like a Schofield to remove/replace the pellet disc. Eventually, the plastic tab that locked it closed broke off.

Had a "shots fired" call at 3am one morning in like 1988, reported to be from an apartment above that of the caller. Partner and I knocked, no answer. Made entry through unlocked front door and cleared the apartment as we made our way toward the back of it. Rear slider doors lead to a balcony overlooking a waterway. As we near those doors, a kid, about sixteen years old, comes in from the balcony, right into my shotgun bead. We gather up him and the others still outside to sort things out, and I quickly recognize the 357 revolver lying on a table on the balcony as being a Crosman. They were shooting at styrofoam cups thrown into the water with it, and the distinctive pops must have sounded like muffled gunshots coming from inside the unit to the caller below.

Ah I bet. I got one of the new ones a year or so ago and is fun. I use in the basement plinking and it is minute of beer can.

I have thought about buying one to tear apart and see the exact difference. But I like the vintage airguns. Probably because I'm a habitual tinkerer

When using these, can one leave a CO2 cylinder in it for a day or so? I have a new one and feel like I need to shoot through the whole cylinder so as not to leave one in it stored.
