Crossbow options

Hello all, I was looking for some crossbow advice. Cabelas has a good sale going on and I have been in the market for a new crossbow. I've narrowed it down to two options: the TenPoint Titan Xtreme (319fps) or the Barnett BCXtreme (365 fps). They are the same price and come with similar accessories.

I'll be using it for deer hunting (PA whitetail). I'm not a big crossbow guy, my old one is a junker that I have had forever and never really hunted with it. I have been bow hunting since I've been a kid, just not with a crossbow. This is the first time I'll be using my own crossbow (I've used friends crossbows in the past) rather than my bow for hunting.

So what do you guys say? 365 fps (the Barnett) is pretty impressive. However I have heard great things about TenPoint in the past. Can anyone give me a few pointers? Thanks!

Advice..... I advise myself not to start a war between crossbows and compounds or more traditional archery choices. But if you must use a crossbow, both of the ones you've looked at are good "bolt guns". Shoot both and you will know which one is for you. However, I would probably opt for the BCXtreme. The extra speed will help with string jump at distance. And 365 is not to fast to be jumped. But it's not going to actually shoot 365 fps in the real world anyways.

Our Cabela's has a practice range. If yours has one, why not ask them to shoot both and see which one shoots the best?

We have a Ten Point and like it a lot. Personally, my kids have adopted it, so I've still been hunting with our "junker" Horton. But I've killed 2 deer with it and neither of them knew it only cost $179
