A friend of mine has a Twin-bow crossbow -- fascinating piece of work, and very nice to shoot. He's currently got a BSA red-dot on it and while we were shooting, the sight failed to adjust for windage, so he wants to replace it. The crossbow is equipped with a scope rail.
I suggested he look at a Sightmark red-dot, since I have one on my Saiga and it works fine.
The question I have is, would the Sightmark (or any red-dot made for rifles) work all right on a crossbow, or would it suffer from some kind of recoil problem, the way scopes are known to do on air-guns?
