3 years ago I bought a TenPoint Turbo XLTII. Love it. The included scope works fine. 3 seasons 3 shots @ deer and 3 dead deer, during crossbow season. Since I am now sold on using a crossbow I am thinking of upgrading the scope. The one it came with is illuminated and I like it, normally I would go leupold and be done but the loopy crossbow scope is not illuminated. Any other options? under 300? looks like vortex used to make one. I would have liked to try a vortex if they still make something.

I have a Truglo on my crossbow but I haven't used it long enough to vouch for it.
On another note: it seems to me your existing scope does what you need it to. Why change it?

I think I would stick with what you have. Not likely to get anything better and illuminated for your price point (if there is really much better than what you have now). I really prefer an illuminated scope so would not get a "better" one if it were not illuminated. So, I think I would leave well enough alone if I were you.

Is there something you want the new scope to do better than what you have now?

I have the same Ten Point scope as you it's not a very good low light scope.Deer I can see plainly in my binocular are black blobs in the scope light on or light off.A illuminated scope doesn't do you any good if the glass in the scope isn't good.

better glass. it has a slight purplish tint in certain light. it works though. for crossbow range it does just fine. I will probably keep it unless I see a deal on the Leupold and forget about illuminated reticle.

I really like my illuminated reticle. Running an Excalibur scope on mine now, Twilight I think is the model which was a nice step up from what came on it.

Just learned that there is an ACOG for crossbows but it's not cheap.

Have you been able to check out a Hawke? Not a Leupold, but if the Leupold is made overseas they may well be made in the same place. They used to be my go to for glass but now with their low end lines I want to research a lot more before a buy a Leupold.

i have a Nikon bolt and while its very good at low light you have to make shots 20yards and under with it because the circles for yardage wash out. hawk makes some good illuminated scopes. check out crossbow nation.com for more info.

I bought a Horton hunter's supreme in 96 and a Simmons 22 mag scope. That package has held up fine till now, I really don't see a need to spend big bucks on a crossbow scope and I'm looking more to a Red Dot to replace that Simmons, something <$100.
