Crossbreed vs Kholster

I've been thinking about getting a Crossbreed for awhile now, but I have a hard time dropping $80 bucks on 1 then waiting 2 months for it to come. A friend of mine discovered Kholster in a local shop so I've been looking into them. They're about half the price and seem to be pretty darn good from what I've read.

What do you guys who have used both think?

I have a Crossbreed that I bought used to fit my Taurus 24/7 Pro Compact .45, and a Kholster that I bought new to fit my 709 Slim. I don't know if the original purchaser of the Crossbreed had to make any adjustments for it to fit the gun properly but it took the liberal application of a heat gun to the Kydex of the Kholster for the 709 to even fit inside. Then, when I would holster it with a round in the chamber the loaded chamber indicator would snag so I had to apply more heat and work some clearance into the Kydex with a skinny screwdriver so the LCI would slip into the holster without snagging. After wearing the Kholster for some length of time I find that it digs into my hip just a bit, I'm planning to apply more heat to the lower part of the Kydex to roll it out just a bit and keep it from having a pressure point.

The Crossbreed has been flawless and comfortable from Day 1. As I said, I bought it used and it fits a different (but larger and heavier) gun so it's not a straight apples to apples comparison but if I had it to do over I'd buy the Crossbreed for the 709. I think I can get the Kholster to where it's as good as the Crossbreed but I don't think the typical customer would be as patient and handy with a heat gun as I've been.

How about a crossbreed like holster for $50 shipped? Mine has been fine for several months now. The guy that makes them has very short lead times. I had mine in less than a week.

That's the guy you found on glocktalk, right? What's his return policy? Kholster gives you 90 days, Crossbreed, only 2 weeks.

I'm not sure about the return policy. At $30 less than the competition and no waiting, I honestly didn't care too much.

It works so I'm ok with it. The others may have slightly nicer hardware, but this does the same thing and it hasn't broke so I can't ask for much more.

There's dozens of pages on glocktalk about it...I'd recommend reading through them.

I bought a Galco King Tuk for my Glock 27. . Seems very well made and very comfortable. I sold off a Sparks Versa Max II because it didn't work well for me. The Sparks has all sorts of positive reviews by owners. It felt bulky to me and difficult to put on and take off. The Galco was about $45 shipped.

I have a Crossbreed and love it.


I've tried multiple concealment holsters and none have been comfortable, being slim and only 120lbs makes that hard. The Crossbreed conceals my compact 1911 and it is super comfortable. I'll never buy another concealment holster.

Crossbreeds better, BUT if you don't mind trimming the leather and spending the time with a heat gun to correctly mold the kydex save some money and get the Kholster, they have a lot of happy customers. my buddys got one and loves it.
