I generally carry my Glock 17 or 21 in an OWB holster while at home. I often wear loose fitting cover garments (sweater, sweatshirt, camp shirt or vest) which tend to cover even a full size pistol well enough for at home carry. So I'm considering a small pistol carried IWB, or even in a pocket holster. I own a wonderful Glock 27, but I feel it's a little heavy and too thick for IWB, maybe in a nice Galco shoulder holster, but I seldom wear an over shirt in my own home. Usually it's some kind of work pant with deep pockets or jeans with a loose fitting T-shirt. So the Glock stays field stripped in my bedroom and than is reassembled before bed.
If I was more concerned about really being discreet (due to wife, girlfriend or room mate), there are still a number of small 9mm guns (LC9, CW9, etc.) that I would chose before stepping down to a .380 pistol. These subcompact, single-stack 9's can easily disappear in a "tuckable" IWB or even a pocket.
