Does anyone out there know if any companies CURRENTLY make a single-shot target pistol? I'm not talking about a tiny little derringer or something, but rather something useful for target shooting. I know S&W, H&R, Webley & Scott, Uberti, and others made these type firearms for a long time but it doesn't seem anyone today makes one. I'd especially be interested in a centerfire version firing something like .38 special. About the only thing I'm seeing is a Thompson Center Contender in .357 magnum.

The only modern one that I can think of would be the Russian TOZ-35M single shot target pistol in .22LR.

Have been eyeing a TOZ 35m lately, but not sure if my wood skills are up to the task.

Currently, Free Pistols are being made by Hammerli (FP-60), Morini (CM-84E), Pardini (FPM), and Match Guns (MG5). All in .22LR. There are a lot of unshot Toz-35m pistols on the market, just bring $$ for a new set of grips.

Once upon a time I fancied having a Contender with barrels for .22, .38 Spl, and .45 acp. I did get a 10" octagon .38 Special Contender barrel and the .22 but never completed the set with the .45 ACP before I decided to give up on the platform. The .38 Spl barrels are long discontinued and are now considered collectible. They are pretty expensive if you ever see one. Custom ones are likewise expensive, but cheaper than the originals!

I have a Taurus .38 revolver that's a single-shot, but you usually have to go through three or four tries to get to the one that goes off. Probably not what you're looking for.

There is not much use for a center fire single shot target pistol beyond Hunter Pistol Silhouette matches.
I used my Contender with a .22LR barrel for Free Pistol matches before I bought a Pardini Free Pistol. No comparison between the two, the Pardini is wildly more adjustable and has that trigger - two ounces.

I saw a Webley single shot pistol in .38 special for sale on one of the auction sites last night. I big $650 on it but the reserve wasn't met, and 19 bids later nobody won it. It is just what I was thinking of for a centerfire target pistol. It's a shame nobody makes one anymore, but I can understand that most wouldn't be interested hence why they don't.
