10mm commander length, bobtailed 1911 in a Brigade M11 holster.

Took years. Built from scratch on a bare Springfield government model frame. Larry Davidson made the grips in the same pattern as my other 1911 in .45ACP.

The gun has a STI slide that is well made. Took the frame and slide to Bar-Sto for a match grade ramped barrel fit to the frame and slide.

Waited until I was satisfied with the gun before posting photos. Shot hundreds of rounds of 180gr Georgia Arms and Double Tap 180gr Gold Dot ammo through it reliably. Heading to a National Forest this weekend to shoot more.

Congratulations! I lucked into my custom Delta Elite six years ago. Will never sell or trade it. Georgia Arms makes good stuff.

Thanks.

Love the 10mm. This is the second "final ultimate custom carry gun I'll ever have built". The first is a nice, reliable 1911 in .45ACP.

But, then, I shot a 10mm.

I'm heading out early to a National Forest to do some shooting and hiking over the weekend. It's known for its black bears, but they should be in hibernation now.

harrygunner,

Enjoy. That handgun looks to be not only finely crafted but well thought out.

I think that I have approached (not matched) to some extent what you have in my Dan Wesson CBOB in 10mm auto. I mention this only to show that I have similar tastes and really appreciate the custom work that you have in your hands now.

I'd like to see more pics. A picture showing the whole handgun unobstructed by other object would be appreciated.

Wow! That's one of the nicest 10mm pistols I've seen! Very well done indeed.

I'm also glad that some of us are still 10mm fans. I've been buying them up if / when I can find a decent deal.

Congratulations, that is one very nice pistol.

How about some pics or videos of it in action?

Thanks for sharing, that's a real pretty 1911. I like your 10mm selection. How far does it toss the brass?

That is a beautiful gun. One I am sure anyone here would be very proud to own.

Thanks folks. Glad there's great gunsmiths out there.

Only shot Double Tap ammo this trip to continue testing the kind of ammo I would use while carrying. The 180gr Gold Dot and XTP continued to feed reliably, no hick-ups of any kind.

One can see the Bar-Sto ramped barrel gives good support. Cases looked better than those shot from my Glock 29. Speaking of the Glock 29, shooting it and the 1911 back-to-back, the 1911 is much more refined.

Stayed after dark to shoot more Double Tap ammo in spite of seeing mountain lion tracks in the mud. Their low flash powder created a small, contained flash, nothing like my .357 Mag snub. Easy to see the target on follow up shots.

Mello - Yes, the Dan Wesson CBOB in 10mm is a great gun. In my mind, this project was to make a CBOB with some differences I wanted.

jeepmor - The brass lands about eight feet away.
