Custom AK 47 Shooter's wholesale worth the $$$?

Sounds like a blued WASR ($400) with airsoft and Tapco ($100) junk thrown at it and sold for $800.

I'd just get the WASR for $390 (http://www.classicarms.us/) and modify it later, if you want to.

There is nothing wrong with the standard AK design. The WASR's I linked to have optics plates already installed and will work with the whole range of cheap and robust (unlike the Custom AK toy sight) Commie optics.

I'd just get a Saiga for ~$350 and modify it later, if you want to.

The Saiga is made of all new Russian parts, while the WASR is made of used parts.

Blahblahblah - this has all been covered here before, ad nauseum

I agree with the other posters here. If you're willing to spend 800$, get an Arsenal SGL-21 and add a red dot later.

I looked on gunsamerica and it seems like these are around the same price with less additions or more expensive for the saiga models am I missing something?

No, that's what Saiga's look like when they're first imported into this country, before they're converted either by Arsenal, AK-USA, etc., or by yourself.

Seems overpriced for what you get. If your happy with the price and that's exactly what you want on your ak then by all means buy it. You could also buy a regular wasr 10 and modify it as you like or you could buy the saiga and with a little work come out with a superior rifle both for less cash.

The original auction link for a "BLACK WIDOW AK47 DARK EARTH MODULAR RAIL SYSTEM" that the OP posted does seem a overpriced. For nearly $800, one would think they could throw in their "premiom GunKote finish," rather than asking for another $99. My vote would be "not worth it".

FWIW, Classic Arms had some kind of Romanian bullpup for a lot less ($489), but they're out of stock right now.

Regarding the Saiga, these can be had for $349 from Atlantic Firearms, or $339 from classicarms.us.

I'll echo what others have said, the gun in the OP's link is way overpriced, particularly given the gun market right now. For that money I would either buy a less expensive AK and put an aim point and an ulitmak rail on it. Or I would buy a Sig 556 or an AR.

considering my friend and I were walking through a gunshow asking 400 for an Egyptian Maadi 20" in VG condition...

the OP rifle ad was a bit overpriced.

Got it!

I'm pretty sure I've figured it out thanks to everyone's help. I think it's an I.O(inter ordinance) ak with tapco furniture like others have said and a bunch of stuff thrown at it to make it seem like a good price. Now the I.O Inc is a whole different story AK made 100% US some say good some bad. Soooo I think I will give it a try since its brand new, cheap, and limited lifetime warranty I don't go to the range a whole lot right now so if it breaks they fix it free and add tapco furniture of my own since supposedly all ak parts will fit it and see what happens

http://www.royaltigerimports.com/ same company $394.95 for wood and they have a copy of psl coming out again soon 100% american and copy of Weiger Stg 940

thanks everyone first semi auto crossing my fingers

IO AKs are not "100% made in the US". They are using the letter of the 922r law to advertise that way. IO AKs have 10 foreign parts and however many US parts to make up the difference.
