Custom German Mauser?

I saw an episode of Combat! recently, and there was this German officer hunting Sgt Saunders. He said that he was a hunter before the war and had his rifle custom made to his specs. This rifle had 2 triggers, kinda like a double brl shottie. Is there such a rifle, or is this Hollywood BS?

double set trigger. very popular back when. they were absolutely made and usually finely crafted indeed. Those pre-war custom commercial mausers are worth a small fortune too....

Yes, it's true. Back in the day, double set triggers were fairly popular. Usually, the back trigger was pulled hard to "set" the front trigger so it would go off at a very light weight. My Anschutz 22 hornet has a double set trigger, and the weight is probably around 2 oz to set it off. :|
