custom scope turrets help

I recently purchases a vortex 6-18-44 for my 223rem and seen they offer custom turrets.
I figured with woodchuck hunting and punching paper these would maybe help out. I also have BDC lines in that scope too.

whats your thoughts on turrets for a 223rem, heavy barrel, 6-18-44 scope for say 300yard shots.

At only 300 yards probably not worth the trouble.

If your BDC lines are like most others, sight in at 200 and the first one will be for 300, or so.

Cut some masking tape to where it's narrow enough to not cover your entire height of your turret and so it will go completely around. Mark it with a pen to match your drops, after shooting and verifying impacts. It's alot cheaper.
