Custom target S&W Model 10?

I know this is a year old thread but I don't get why folks get their drawers bunched up over modifying a S&W that has already been refinished. What it's worth to another individual in its present condition is irrelevant. It's your gun, do what you want with it. If what you want is a PPC gun (or any custom gun for that matter) no factory gun will do....even a 686. Not a valid comparison, IMHO.

I'll add my 2 cents. I see a few tricked out shooters like those comp guns (mostly model 10 or 15, at a local gunshop every year. Most are selling for abou t$350.00 and in excellent condition. I am buying the next nice one I see.....those guys have about a grand or more into it when it is all done up and i would never spend that on one when one can buy a done one for the 350 to 400 range.

The PPC guns are now semi-auto. Not a bunch of buyers for the revolvers. kinda fun to take it to the range and show off the accurcy of a double action. The young'ns look at you strange with ther plastic pistols. Course, ain't too hard to make a good 4" again.
