This is a big thing for me when i make a purchase and I really need some feedback. I've dealt with Springfield before and their customer service is awesome and i'm looking for a 1911. I've gotten some really great information from everyone and i'm just needing a nudge. I've been told about the Sig rcs and also a Dan wesson for concealed carry. I wouldn't mind another Springfield either but i'm really looking to get some ideas on how other customer service issues are. Everyone praises Springfield on all threads but if i choose a different maker i just want some feedback on what the issues where and did they make you feel like a king/queen when they helped.

I don't know how much you want to spend, but I'll tell ya about Les Baer. I have bought 4 LB in the past, all used and not from the factory. I have called LB factory 8 times to ask questions and have talked to Mr. Baer 5 of those times. Not one time was he ever in a hurry, and in fact shot the bull with me 15-20 minute's each time.

I've dealt with Springfield, S&W, and Fusion on 1911 issues and the service I rec'd from all three was outstanding. Fusion edged Springfield out a bit but they are a much smaller shop so I was dealing with the owner which could account for it but they both did way more for me than was expected. S&W was great but it a very minor problem so it was quickly and easily resolved.

Based on the products and the customer service I wouldn't hesitate to buy another gun from any of those three. That being said, I have other 1911s that haven't required a return visit to the factory and I like that kind of customer service, too - a gun that is right from the start.

The ones I've has occasion to contact:

Ruger - Adequate (once)

Wilson Combat - Outstanding (once)

Nighthawk - Outstanding (once)

S&W - Very Good (twice)

Kimber - Sucked (thrice)

Dan Wesson - A little better than Kimber (once)

Another vote for Mr. Les Baer, as they are A#1 when it
comes to customer service. Springfield Armory runs a
close 2nd, thanks to Debbie in CS; and S&W is right on
their heels~! ;) :D

Not a 1911, but good CS also comes from KEL-TEC, and
Ruger. I don't know where SIGARMS ranks now; but they
also use to have good CS~~!
