Hi yall, i just picked up a used magbolt 150 and was wondering about the primer flash, this one throws a lot of bang and flash out the side in front of the bolt, are they suppose do this? also i have taken out the breach plug and cleaned it so it is open, but i cant get any fire through it to ignite some powder in the barrel, thanks for the help.....:banghead:

It's just a guess, but maybe you don't realize that the powder is igniting.
The powder needs to be contained by a bullet or a packed wad to make a bang. Or else it just fizzles and doesn't create any pressure, so one might think that it's not igniting, burning or "exploding" at all.
If the flashhole is open and the primer goes off, then the powder ignites, unless the powder is somehow defective or not reaching the breechplug after being loaded.
Newspaper can be balled or folded up, tamped down tightly and compressed to seal the bore enough to create some pressure and make a bang.
That's like creating a blank.

what powder are you using?
Pull the plug and see if the breech pluh flash hole is clear.
If it comes down to it, just call CVA and tell them the problem and they will more than likely have you send it in for inspection/repair. Thats covered under warranty and free of charge.

ok thanks guys, i have take out the breach plug and cleaned it and squirted liquid cleaner through it so i know its open, i put "just a small pinch" og regular powder from my reloading bench wit a piece of paper to hold the powder, i just wanted to somewhat test fire the gun but i cant get the powder to light, after i retake out the breach plug i can dump the powder out and its not burnt
