So I bought a used Beretta CX4 Storm in 9mm off gunbroker. When I was in the store today (FFL it was sent to), we took it apart to make sure everything was in order. I took out the main pin holding it together and gently pulled the top and bottom apart. The plastic buffer which is supposed to be attached to the recoil spring via the guide rod, wasn't, and fell off and onto the floor. All of my friends have CX4's and I've never seen this. We took a new CX4 off the display shelf, did the same thing and it became obvious that I didn't break the thing just by taking it apart. It was broken to begin with. I guess my question is, has anyone else had a CX4 with a broken/split buffer, and did they just replace the buffer to fix it, or was there more involved? Thanks. Attached are some pictures of the buffer and the schematics page from Brownells. The buffer is part #22 on the schematic which wonderfully isn't in stock.
