I plan on upgrading my 1911 with a new sear, hammer, disconnector and springs. The gun will be used for bullseye. Are the C&S parts worth the premium price? Any other sources for parts recommended? How much final fitting necessary? Thanks for any insight.

C&S did some serious work on my Springfield some years ago. Though not for Bullseye shooting, they did install a ton of new "guts" (hammer, sear, springs, disconnect, barrel bushing, etc.), de-horned it (damn that Springer was razor sharp in places!) throated the barrel and installed a gold-bead front site.

All the work was absolutely top-notch.

I sent a 10mm CBOB to C&S after Dan Wesson had three chances to fix it. CS got a blank check and made it WORK! It was having major reliability issues and these guns have a spotty record of reliability to begin with. They fixed it and in good time too.

They are great!!
