I've read that standard capacity 9mm magazines are now available from CZ-USA.

I've got one, in .40. I bought it 2 years ago (picked up on Election Day, to spite Illinois' gun grabbing governor). I bought it as a possible power and capacity upgrade from my Makarov, and because I wanted to try the whole polymer DAO "thing". I've had a couple issues with it, dealt with by CZ.

I continue to have the occational stovepipe. This keeps me from, at this point, completely trusting it. If Wolff ever comes out with springs for this model, I'll be trying them (Yes, I know about using CZ Compact springs. This did not work well in my gun.)

I bought one when they first came out. I really admire CZ products, and I loved all the features this one had, but I sold it unfired, as the trigger is horrendous. There are a few tweaks you can do to it, but nothing is going to really improve it. The best analogy I can give you is that it feels like you're trying to drag a grand piano across a gravel driveway.

I had one. Took it through 200 rounds, no problems. If you work with the trigger a bit, you can become acclimated to it, but it is fairly stiff. It was reliable, ate everything I fed it. I liked the loaded chamber indicator, thought it was a nifty little thing. I was indifferent on the sights. I generally don't like adjustables on this type of gun, but they were very good. Ergonomics, aside from that trigger, were great. I did let it go, though. I have alot of 9mms and really didn't need this one, so when something I wanted came along, it was trade time.

Now if it came in SA/DA...

The CZ100 was my 3rd CZ. Ergonomics were great; natural pointer. Trigger after some polishing still not good. I traded it for a XD. If the other version ever gets imported with the traditional CZ DA/SA trigger and safety, I'll be first in line to pick one up.

...Uphill.

Just kidding! While the hernia-inducing trigger effort is largely unavoidable on the CZ 100 due to its DAO trigger setup, the trigger pull actually smooths out rather nicely after a few hundred rounds have been put through it and the trigger components polished as outlined on CZForum.com.

The 40S&W version of the CZ 100 is a surprisingly accurate compact pistol. When properly and securely benchrested (to counter the tendency to pull the pistol off-target when operating the heavy trigger), my CZ 100 will easily group under 3" at 20 yards with my handloads. However, shooting offhand at that distance opens up the group sizes due to the heavy trigger.

Early versions of the CZ 100 came severely undersprung from the factory (although I hear this is not the case with current production CZ 100s), and shooting commercial ammo in a stock 40S&W CZ 100 can be downright brutal. Replacing the weak factory recoil spring with a stronger aftermarket one usually helps to make the recoil more tolerable--the Wolff recoil springs intended for the CZ Compact appear to also work in the 100 (I currently have a 22 lb. spring in mine).

If you are a tinkerer and like taking things apart, the CZ 100 might just be your cup of tea. The CZ 100 is possibly the easiest autoloading pistol to completely detail-strip for maintenance and/or cleaning.
