Cz 1911.

Two problems with it.
1. That's a horrible roll mark on the slide.
2. The picture you posted is friggin' huge, barely half the gun fits on my screen. Any chance you can shrink that any?

Hmmm....not excited. There is already a glut of 1911s on the market....perhaps if they made an affordable commander size with an alloy frame and decent sights.
Otherwise I like my CZs because, well, they are CZs lol. They are different from everything else.

I'm not a fan of the slide markings either. But Colt has the preamble, and those markings look just like Remingtons new 1911.

No idea why the pics here end up so big. I stole it from another forum where it was small.

I'm hoping it's a GI made by DW for CZ, and under $900.

One comment I read on another forum said "Assembled by Dan Wesson" (which is, of course, a CZ-owned company. I don't know if that means that CZ is making parts and shipping them to the U.S. or whether, in fact, they're made in the US and just represent the (relatively speaking) "plain vanilla" 1911 for the bottom of the CZ/DW totem pole.

How many more low to mid priced 1911's do we need? Unless someone offers something new and exciting, I think the 1911 market is over flooded right now.

I like it. I have no idea if it will be successful or not, but I like it. Will I buy one? I do not own a 1911 and I am a CZ fan so if I ever decide to buy one it will be one that I consider.

I think it is a GI type gun being built by DW for CZ so that the DW name is still associated with top tier prodcution guns like the Valor. IMHO they want to keep the DW name associated with premium product while at the same time leveraging their knowledge and expertise.

I personally think that a well made forged GI gun has a niche in the crowded 1911 market. Every other GI type gun currently being offered is cheapened in some way or another with cast frame, cast small parts and MIM parts. Time will tell what the small parts in this gun are made of but if they are tooled steel. The SA Milspec are still in high demand at the $600 to $700 depending on finish. So depending on the actual street price of the gun I think they will sell well.

DW name is still associated with semi custom guns like the Valor.

Nothing semi-custom about DW guns.. Top tier mass produced/production is it...

I would agree the Valor a top tier production gun but I would not call it mass produced. They do not have the production capacity of other mass produced makers.

There's always room for a reliable properly built 1911. That's what's so special about it. I'm hoping for some DW reliability and build quality, rubbing off on this pistol.

Can't wait.

Quik SHot, the EVOs are on the way...and sold out already... We are now waiting on the NEXT load of EVOs...

How many of them were brought in and what did they sell at?

Any idea on the time frame between shipments? I never expected to get the first or even second batch, but I can dream about the 3rd wave.

"1. That's a horrible roll mark on the slide."
I've seen worse, and from practically every maker there is at this point . Props to CZ for keeping the font under an inch, I say

Also, I find the lack of enthusiasm (rather, the forced apathy ;)) very humorous, since I recall widespread enthusiasm for Ruger and Remington of all people coming out with their own equally plain vanilla 1911 offerings (and actual excitement by SIG's entry, especially in light of their own cult-like following of handgunners, much as CZ has). The gun's a legitimately good design that's a legitimate alternative to the famed CZ line, so why not diversify their offerings with a variant of their own? Could be the start of the quintessential American design going more international, after all.

Are you guys genuinely uninterested, or are you just fans of the CZ architecture? Be honest ;).

CZ could start making ARs for all I care, so long as they don't market them as a Samopal (the new BREN is bad enough at stealing a mantle, that it almost obscures the gun's otherwise great design)

"Meh, we have more than enough 1911s on the market already. Hurry up and bring that Scorpion EVO over"

Too many 1911s, but somehow not enough blowback 9mm pistols/carbines... ;)

Hurry up and get the 805 importable (the ATF/Customs, not CZ :p)

Too many 1911 choices already. It's not a budget or a high end. From what I read here. Not following what niche they are going after. Seems like the market is so crowded already. What do I know though. ..except I have zero interest in it. Unless I missed the magic part that makes it a got to have?

^^^ This^^^

From my perspective, I guess I don't understand the referenced pricepoint as any kind of positive. If the 1911 platform is a $1000 (+) gun, why spend 2x what you need to on a base model?
