RAMI Range report number two

The loving wife and I walked into Jensens Arizona Sportsman at 10AM, carrying all the ammo we could afford, which wasn't much! (State slave wages still don't stretch very far.) We had 200 rounds of various stuff, which didn't take to long to fire! I gotta take more ammo next time.
She went inside in her blue CZ Czechnology t-shirt, and her CZ 9mm RAMI riding comfortably in a beautiful HBE Leatherworks IWB rig, and she got several stares - that's my girl!
Alan behind the counter set us up with a lane, and a bullseye target, plus a TQ15 silouhette. Liz Matty, Jensen's general manager, was supposed to shoot with us this day, but was unable to break away from her duties. Next time, Liz!
We had only three types of ammunitiion with us, Winchester White Box 100 round bargain buy 9mm 115gr FMJ, (the smokiest stuff I have ever fired, outside of reloads), CCI Blazer aluminum case 9mm 115gr FMJ, and Winchester 9mm 115 JHP. Yes, we shop at Wal Mart.
Please note, all rounds were fired at 7 yards, unless otherwise noted, and we are not the worlds' greatest shots, nor did we have access to a Ransom Rest, so all shots were fired two handed hold, standing. I use a modified Weaver, and she is a cup and saucer style.
CP40 fired the first rounds, the 11 JHP she carried in, and got a 7 inch group centered, including the flyer. She was again impressed with the almost total lack of recoil, and ease of operation, saying that it felt "great". BTW, anyone concerned about the large group- all rounds were on the target, and the BG would have been very very dead.
We switched off shooting, and I was also impressed with the little gun's feel. I did try switching my little finger from riding the bottom edge of the magazine base pad, to curled under, but with the mild recoil, it was not difficult at all to stay on target , no matter where the finger was at the time. We had no +P, or +P+ to try, and that might change felt recoil somewhat. I do have to say I have not fired any subcompact that was this easy to use, bar none.
One group that kinda stands out was the last two rounds of JHP, I decided for no reason to fire left hand, unsupported - one was a X bullseye. Nifty, weird, but nifty.
We did have two Failure to Eject, both with CCI Blazer, and right when we started. Both were horizontal, case laying in the port forawrd, and very easy to clear. Both also occured third round in the magazine. After that, the little shell shucker kept chugging along, inlcuding the rest of the Blazers.
I did try some 25 yard stuff, but combo my shooting ability with lack of rests, and I had a 9 inch group with 3 out of ten off the right side of the paper....whoops. Well, it is a subcompact, not a target pistol. I had a ten yard 10 shot group with the Blazer, of 4 inches. Best group was the Blazer at 7 yards, 2 inches.
Final word, well, I would not hesitate to carry this little CZ as a defensive pistol, especially in an HBE holster. It was pleasant, combat accurate, easy to use, with large controls, and simple operation for the tyros. My wife is absolutely sold on this handgun, and has switched to it for good. Way to go honey....that's my girl, and her CZ...
The one thing we hadn't recieved yet, and could not field test, is her gorgeous new walnut grips Hakan Pek of Norway, the best of the CZ grips makers. As soon as they show up, I'll post a couple of photos!
