Anyone here have a scope on their .17HMR CZ-452 with a BDC they would like to brag about. I'm just wondering if any of them work as advertised, or should I just stick to a regular, old duplex, etc.
I've got a CZ452. Mine's in .22lr, no plans to get a .17 though. My 452's scoped with a Nikon Monarch 3.3-10X A/O mil-dot.
As Nikon has very recently revamped the Monarch line, these are now on sale for under what wholesale was just a year ago. I can without reservation endorse this scope for rimfire hunting. Mine sits in Talley mounts & they position it perfectly for me
I do a lot of Montana gopher shooting with my set-up & thoroughly enjoy using the mil-dot reticle. You never know what range or angle the next shot is gonna be at, there's NO time to adjust turrets. I've literally had the little buggers pop up between my feet & the next shot be 110 yards away, 8 seconds apart. The wind blows here, a lot. The angle of the target to the wind will constantly vary. Makes shooting them a challenge alright. But, it's also possible to run through a brick in a good day's shooting.
I have a pentax pioneer on my savage 17hmr,it's 4.5x14 and I really like it.The bdc part I haven't tried much as the longest distance I've been able to shoot it is 125 yds.
