I just got rid of my CZ-52 in 7.62x25 in a trade up for a Hakim, and i really didnt wantto get rid of it but didnt have the money to be able to keep from trading it at the time.

I have a lot of surplus 7.62x25 and a lot of handloads that i have made with .308 hornaday XTP hollowpoints in a load that i worked up and mushrooms perfectly in gel and wet phonebooks.

Im going to get back into the game with another pistol in 7.62x25, because that was the only one, and im seeing a lot of Romanian TT-33's for about $200 and the CZ-52's at about $150 for a decent one. I have shot a lot of really hot ammo in the CZ-52 and it has held up really well. I have heard that it was a much stronger action and have even read loads that people have posted saying "MAX LOAD for use in CZ-52's ONLY" but i would really rather have the TT-33 because of ergonomics. I could never hit much with my 52.

So, is the roller locking action on the CZ really able to take hotter loads without braking than the TT-33? Im not really familar with the TT's and am wanting to know how the strength of the locking mech. compares to the CZ 52. Basicly can i use my super hot handloads from my cz-52 in a TT-33?

Anyone have any insight?

Do some more searching. I think you will find that TTs digest loads that KB CZ52s. Not sure of all the CZ technical details (I find them uncomfortable to shoot and won't get one), but there is apparently a weak point at a cut-out near the rollers, and the rollers themselves are known to wear and lock-up.
Do your own research, but I have seen reports of CZ KBs, but never one for a TT.

That is true. I have seen websites cautioning a certain ammo and showing a blown up CZ 52, and heard of a few people with busted ones.

So the general concencus is kind of that the TT-33 action would take any ammo that wouldent blow up the CZ-52 either?

It's my opinion that the TT is much more than just little stronger than a cz52

I've owned both I found that the cz would cycle with the weakest .32 ACP level handloads throwing my brass 30' into the bushes where the TOK required a fairly spicy load to even cycle reliably. Accuracy with the CZ was mediocre at best compared to the Tokarev's excellent accuracy. When I got my like new CZ52 I thought it was an OK pistol, But after buying a Rusty $100 Norinco 54-1 I realized what a turkey the CZ52 is, within 3 weeks my CZ was GONE.

My particular CZ was literally beating itself to death on a steady diet of S&B.

The MYTH that a CZ52 is stronger than a Tokarev is exactly that a MYTH. Buy the TOKAREV and don't look back

7.62x25 Tokarev was somewhat of a beefed up version of .30 Mauser. .30 Mauser, at the time of design, was one of the most powerful handgun calibers around IIRC. The TT-30/33 were designed around that round, so I wouldn't exactly call it a wimp. Maybe one of those Norinco commercial jobs (I'm not speaking from experience here) but I think one of the Romy versions should be able to handle it OK. I just got a Polish TT-33/M48 myself and I have no worries.
