Anybody shooting a CZ 550 in 6.5x55? I am going to purchase a 6.5x55 for my youngest son. I am leaning towards the CZ 550. I have a CZ 550 in 9.3x62 that will shoot one hole groups at 100 yards and I was wondering if this is common with the CZ's or did I just get lucky.
Thanks

I have 2 CZ's but don't have anything in the 550 series, but what you describe sounds about right for CZ's. They are fine guns and I would recommend them to anyone.

I own 1 CZ550 but it's a Varmint model. I love mine. I have heald one CZ550 American before and it felt like a solid gun. I have heard nothing but great things about the 550 american action, I would certinaly go with one if the price is right.

Also, set triggers are nice!

Steve;

I can't really say too much about the CZ, as they refuse to put the bolt on the correct side of the action. Some quality control issues there as far as I'm concerned, :neener: .

However, I'm fully in favor of your choice of the 6.5 X 55 Swedish Mauser. I too gave one to my son & it has been an absolute delight for the past 10 years.

PS, for those about to stick their oar in the water & say that CZ does indeed offer an LHB option; That's an MRC action, not a CZ action. I can bop up to Kalispell & get one that says Montana Rifle Company anytime I want to spend the gas money.
