CZ-550 question

I was wondering, since the actions on both the short action calibers and the long action calibers (non magnum) are the same length, could one conceiveably convert a short action cz-550 with the detachable magazine into a long action version of the CZ, by replacing the trigger guard, floor plate assembly? I have neither in front of me to look at, but I am considering a CZ-550 Varmint Kevlar, in .308, but would like to convert it some day - after the barrel goes, to a longer cartrige like the 6.5x284 or 6.5x55. Would such a conversion be possable?

I dont see why not, I remember a dude , sometime in the past year converting a 550 from one chamber, into a 6.5 swede.

The action would handle it but I don't know where you're going to get all of the other parts. Not a whole lot of aftermarket for the CZ's.

It's going to take a long time to wear out the barrel on a .308.

How much do you plan to shoot it annually?
