Obviously I know the functional difference between these two guns.

My question is this: is the SA model's trigger noticeably better than the B model's (in SA mode)?

I think this is my last decision to make before headign to the next gun show and trying to swap my Ruger and KT for a CZ.

A little better. But either one can be improved by a good gunsmith. (Not that most folks would bother...)

The DA/SA version SA trigger is good enough that the bigger question is whether you can live with SA only. I like the option of being able to do either DA or SA.

I found the trigger on my friend's 75B nicer than my 75SA. That plastic trigger feels awful, allowing for a squishy break. Once funds allow, I'm replacing the trigger and taking it to a smith.

I purchased a CZ 75 SA in .40 S&W several months ago. I expected the trigger to be better than the CZ 75B models. I was wrong. I could feel the plastic trigger flex when I pulled the trigger...and the trigger break wasn't that great. It was creepy and gritty. I can't figured out why I bought the darn thing. I guess I thought that since it was an SA only trigger it would be crisper. It was not true. I think the SA models suck and one would be better off with the 75B, which should cost less than the SA model line.

Now if the factory did something special with the SA trigger I would be forced to change my opinion.

NOTE: I am not writing about the CZ IPSC SA line of pistols. I have never sampled one of those. I am writing about the plain ole CZ 75SA pistol.

poof...

I recently got a 75SA and it has a metal trigger. The trigger is also pretty nice. It's no 1911, but it beats Glocks by a fair bit.

One of the biggest plusses of the SA for me is the larger safety. The safety on the 75Bs is too pimply for me to wanna run it C&Led and no way am I gonna go DA/SA, that sux :) .

Well now...:D Ive had 2 SA's and a hell of alot more of the 75 DA's. The SA is better in some regards and not as good in some also. The biggest downfall is the plastic trigger. It does offer a Sprongy feel that euclid pass's on....but

Dude...Sorry you think "they suck" if you shot mine...trust me. I doubt highly yould think it sucks.

The gun differs from the standard B model in more ways than the trigger.
Its got a different frame with an more upswept beavertail..much like a 97B.
It has the extended mag release for faster mag reloads in Comp shooting.
The 9mm is the ONLY 9mm with the full width slide rails, putting more weight over the muzzle for quicker followup shots.

If the trigger is the only reason "they suck".....hmmmmm. Ill argue with great verve. The OEM trigger sucks....Yes, I agree...but in general the gun is setup better than the DA version for certain things...like Comp shooting.

Mind you, if they would use the Champion hammer/sear/trigger for an out of the box 1-2# trigger...that breaks like a fully smithed 1911 race gun does...the OEM Champion does also....then Id be first in line....

In the meantime, mine breaks at 3#'s and is by far and away the best non 1911 SA trigger Ive pulled! But its not stock either and by no ones definition, does IT SUCK!....:D
Shoot well

Just for note...HK P7's have plastic triggers, try and tell this board they suck!
My point is: its not the material that sucks, its the way CZ did this trigger...out of plastic..................just a thought.

Shoot well.

Just for clarification, the HK P7 trigger is metal with a plastic coating. It is not plastic. Why CZ doesn't install a metal trigger at the factory on the SA is beyond my understanding.

my 75B has a metal trigger. Thank goodness! The single action pull is nice. A little take up, and it breaks at about 3.5# or so. Not too gritty at all.

I do need to take a dremel to the edges on the trigger... they are kinda squared, and I'd like to round them off a little.

I didn't know that CZ went to a plastic trigger. Glad I have an older one.

Drool Drooling Droooled. Damn fine lookin piece ya got there.

For the rest of ya, this is what I've learned about CZ triggers from my very limited experience.

Yes they are guilty as charged on all counts but I will tell you that the more you shoot em the better they get. And they get ALOT better. Mine seemed gritty for a long time and then boom it was gone. Now it is slickery. Of course that is somewhere between 1000 and 1500 rounds or more I'm Guessing but definitely not more than 2000.

I never liked the DA pull on much of anything. But now I'm a convert. Sure it can be a bit long but once it's slickered and you learn to just pull the dern thing I don't worry about C&L so much any more.

Moral buy a 75b and shoot the sin out of it. Then buy a SA later and shoot it alot too. You can thank me later.

4v50...dont panic. Just the 75 SA went with the plastic unit..the reg. DA gun is still the steel trigger.

Bevrfevr....Thanks...but dont drool on the gun...they rust you know. :D
It turned out very nice and its a shooter....it groups right up with my STI Trojan.

Enjoy your CZ's guys...Ill force myself to do the same

Shoot well

PCRCCW - On a more positve note, I own the P-01 and IT DOES NOT SUCK.:D

It is a helluva pistol and I am looking forward to purchasing another CZ (the 97B) in the spring. I was just profoundly disappointed with the 75 SA. If CZ would do some sort of smithing on the SA trigger to distinguish them from the 75B models they would have something that would be off the hook.

For the money, I still feel that CZ is tops.

I just tried out a 75 SA at the local store and it had a good trigger. I'd say on par with the single action of my HK USP 40C but a little lighter. It had a metal trigger like the one in the picture PCRCCW posted.

I don't like to keep a round in the chamber so DA/SA or SA doesn't really make a differance to me because I'm going to be cycling the slide first anyway. I was leaning toward the CZ 85 Combat because of the ambidexterous controls would make off-hand shooting more workable.

euclid...now your talking..the PO1 is a stellar gun...its the best CZ next to the PCR :D  not that Im biased or anything. Rock on with your addiction.

Black....The SA has ambi controls and theyre bigger than the 85 Combat also. Just a note. Question, why not carry with a round chambered?...with the hammer down on a DA gun...youre pretty much safe.

Shoot well.
