I have a Baby Eagle .40 and I don't like the shape of the hammer, it is hard to cock. I know that the BE and CZ-75 are nearly identical internally, I used a CZ-75 takedown guide to detail strip my BE the other day. So my question is could I use a CZ-75 hammer (ring-type) in my BE? The parts look the same when I compare them, but I know that looking the same and having the same tolerances is a world of difference.
How difficult is replacing a hammer, is it a drop-in piece or does it need to be carfully fitted to the sear, etc? Is this something complex/dangerous that I should have a gunsmith do. or something simple that I can do with hand tools at my workbench?
Thanks for your help.
