All of a sudden I have one of those urges...an attraction to a CZ75 Compact for possible carry instead of my S&W 642...Does anyone have any good or bad input?

I've got nothing but good input to give from what I've seen of CZ pistols in general. They are oddly rare in my neck of the woods, but every so often an example comes along. Overall build quality and fitting have looked great on the ones I've handled. My only gripe is that trigger pull seems inconsistent among different ones. On some its pretty decent, while on others its creepy and gritty. I've owned CZ clones before , but recently just bought my first real one in the SP-01 model. The full size models fell great to me, but the compact ones don't feel at all right in my very large hands. If the gun fits you though , I don't really see where you can go wrong with a CZ. Accuracy from my SP-01 is shockingly good.

I think very well of the CZ75 in general. I've had several Compacts over the years as well as several PCRs, and all of them have been very satisfying. Other than having a relatively weak extractor spring that caused issues with Blazer aluminum-cased ammo, I had zero issues with mine (and the extractor spring was easily swapped for a stronger Wolff spring). All told, I have probably shot 50K rounds through various CZ75 variants.

If you get a CZ, resist the urge to uprate the recoil spring; that's a popular and misguided mod that will batter the slide stop's pin into an early grave.

Are you looking at a steel frame or an alloy framed model?

Which ever one it is, I will recommend it.

I have one for sale in the want ads of this forum if interested. Just selling it because I have the CZ Rami and want to consentrate on my sd pistols.

I have carried my CZ PCR for a number of years now and I have only the highest regard for it. It has been both reliable and accurate. I recommend this CZ Compact without reservation.:D

Nothing but love for the CZ P01. Very reliable after 800 rounds. Extremely accurate (more accurate than my skills allow).

I have a slightly different gun - a 75D PCR - and like it very much. If you are OK with the 75 Compact's weight and safety system, I recommend it without reservation.

I traded a S&W model 59 for my CZ PCR, and never looked back. The CZ PCR is my daily beater it is a great shooting, reliable, sexy looking pistol. It way out shoots and out carries the old 59.

They are superior pistols. The all steel Compacts are excellent as well as the lightweight alloy compact PCR and P-01.

I have a 75B and PCR and really, really like them.

CZ75

I have a CZ75 D and I think I carry it more than the XD subcompact. I don't do to bad at the speed plate matches either. The Israiles tested it and like it because it will feed any ammo.

The cZ 75 Compacts are terrific pistols. However, being steel, they feel heavy towards the end of the day so you may want to look the PCR. I do not have a RAMI as they don't feel right for me, but what I have read of them, they are fine pistols.

More praise for the PCR. I chose it over the P01 for carry because it doesn't have a rail, does a have a decocker, and I prefer the sights. I carry it in a crossbreed supertuck and barely notice it.

I also bought the kadet kit and get lots of extra trigger time shooting rimfire.

I have owned the CZ75B full sized for a year. It has become of my favortie guns. Last winter, I carried easily in an IWB. You willnot and cannot go wrong with the compact version. Good luck!! Get it already!!

That's why I believe this may be the best of all forums...wait a few hours & get a ton of replies. Thanks, everyone for your input. Still torn between 9mm & .40 (probably should get both, eh?).

The only thing that beats a CZ is more than one CZ.

You have been duly warned...........
