CZ 75 Spring Rod Question

I was cleaning my CZ 75 SP01 today and when it came time to reassemble the pistol I was unable to get the spring and the guide rod back in front of the barrel.

I am completely baffled by this. I have cleaned the gun on numerous previous occasions with no problems but this time, it is as if the rod has grown an eighth of an inch.

Does anyone have any ideas about what might be causing this problem?

Never mind.

My apologies!

Must remember to eat before cleaning pistol.
