Just got my cz-82 from aimsurplus for a cool 200 bucks. Took it out the other day and MAN was i impressed. Well just say my glock 22 was getting jealous how many rounds i put through the cz.

HOWEVER, i seem to have a small problem with the sights. The two dots on the back sight are perfectly visible, however the front sight, which seems to supposed to have two white strips on it, has only the right most strip. The other has peeled off from use or what not, and came like this.

I shot the gun very accurately for the first time out, so its not like this small missing strip is causing problems, but are there any good fixes for something like this????? i leave it to the highroad gods

I redid mine and the paint is somewhat gummy, almost latex like, its any easy fix, just use sight paint.

Mine had a solid white stripe for the front ramp, with two white dots for the rear sight. I was thinking of redoing it with neon red or orange (day) colored glow paint.

If you can't find sight paint (or don't want to pay the $$ for it) check out your local Walgreen's/CVS's fingernail polish aisle. You're bound to find a bright color that will work for you, especially since Holloween is just around the corner.

Do what I did to mine. Call CZ-USA or go to the web site. Order a pair of night sights for the CZ-83. I blasted mine then Dura-Coated it in H-K Black.

Go to your local hobby & crafts store and buy a bottle of luminous paint. In regular daylight it is a bright pale yellow-green color that stands out well. At night it's a poor man's night sight.

Expensive option: If you can find them, meprolight made (makes?) tritium sights that work. They are sold for the CZ75/CZ83 but fit fine and run approximately $75. ML17777 is the part number I think. I found a set a couple of years ago but they are normally "out of stock."

Major PITA to knock out the old rear due to the staking. I passed a dremmel cutoff wheel through the center of the sight (left to right) and it came out. I dressed the dovetail before inserting the new sight. The front sight was easier. The front dovetail runs fore/aft (bore axis).

Actually they are ČZ vz. 82, but I don't have the ability to put the little thingy over the "C" on my keyboard. I paid about that for the sights from CZ. Duracoat is easy to apply if you have an air compressor and air brush. I blasted mine before I coated it it. Got a little blast cabinet from Harbor Feight.
