99% sure I'll be getting one soon, selling my G21SF for proceeds.:scrutiny:

To the point does anyone know when CZ started polishing and throating the barrel for better feeding? I looked at a new one today and it was nicely done compared to a couple older ones I looked at.

I know they changed the barrel bushing design at some point, maybe that's when the improvement to the chamber was done...

Sweet shooting pistol. You'll be pleased with it. I've heard you need large hands to hold it. Not so, I've got medium sized. Works fine. Like all CZ's it's well made and eats most everything.

Post up pics when you get it, please! If you decide to have any custom work done on it, one of the members here who goes by the screen name "Schmeky" runs an excellent 97 custom shop. I would check that out. I believe it's "Cajun Gun Works". Please let us know on how this gun works. If I sell my Kimber, I may just have to pick one up.

I'm not sure of the date, but my 97BD was manufactured in 2009 and seems to have no problems feeding hollowpoints.

Here Is An Idea Of Their Accuracy

I shot the attached target yesterday after not shooting anything but 9mm for almost 2 months. I shot at a rapid pace (2-3 seconds or so per mag), but reloads were followed by 30 seconds to a minute of rest. The target is from 12 yards away, 50 shots, using Sellier and Bellot FMJ 230s. This gun is very accurate, perhaps just shy of my Colt 1911. I highly recommend the gun to anyone.

Thanks guys, I put one on layaway last week. It'll take a couple weeks to get in as the normal suppliers were out of stock. I plan to shoot the Lee 452-228-1R through it exclusively (as I have with my Glock and Sig) so hopefully it likes that particular profile.

About that competition hammer...is that something I can do, or a gunsmith procedure? I have no problem detail stripping my Glock and did a Saiga conversion if that means anything.

Chris,

I have been selling drop-in CZ hammer kits since the first of this year. Not stumping here on the forum, but go the CZ Forum, classified adds and there is a sticky at the top about my kits. You can also read about them in the gunsmith section, my website is: www.cajungunworks.com

I have taken the hassle out of upgrading the CZ platform. My KIT3 is the cadillac for your 97.

Dang Mr. Blue, I would love to be able to shoot like that!

Thanks. Not bad for someone raised in NYC and only shooting handguns for 2.5 years. I just close my eyes and let the CZ take over. Seriously, all my CZs are insanely accurate. I shoot my SP-01 and 75B in action pistol and love them too. They make me better than I am.
